A new product designed to boost the declining bumblebee population.
Beepol hives contain the native UK Bumblebee species, Bombus terrestris audax.
Each colony starts with about 30-40 workers, eggs and a queen. This will develop into a hive of several hundred bees.
Bumblebee colonies do not continue like honeybee hives, so Beepol hives have a limited lifespan and will need replacing. However before the queen bee dies, she produces young queens that will leave the hive to hibernate before establishing fresh new colonies in the spring.
Beepol hives are delivered direct from our supplier on Thursdays during the season (mid March - end August).

The Beepol garden hive is designed for use in greenhouses or for the customer to provide a shelter for it when used outside.
A viewing panel in the lid allows observation of the colony as it develops, whilst the exit and entrance system enable you to watch the bees at work, as they bring pollen back to the hive.

The Beepol Lodge contains one Beepol garden hive, which can be replaced with a new one when the hive comes to the end of its life and the new queen bumblebees have dispersed. It can be situated in your garden as a stand alone feature, ensuring every summer you can enjoy the sight and sounds of British Bumblebees hard at work in your garden.
The Lodge has a hinged roof for access, exit and entrance holes and a landing ledge.
